A woman has made an eerie discovery in her own .
Renovating your house can sometimes reveal the previous lives of those who walked the same floors, with chance finds beneath floorboards or inside walls creating unexpected twists. While many unearth old newspapers or forgotten belongings, one DIY-savvy gal got the shock of her life – and a story to tell that's creepier than most.
Rather than uncovering dusty heirlooms or hidden messages, this lady thinks she's stumbled upon something much more chilling: peeking out from her chimney. Jordan Ashleigh shared her bizarre find on during her domestic project while tidying up her dining room where her chimney is being renovated.

She made an unnerving discovery when she mistook what she assumed was an "odd piece" of her ongoing craft project for something much more macabre – a possible human tooth.
In the social media clip making waves online, Jordan recounted her moment of dread: "I've just found a tooth in my house, and I think it's human. I don't quite know what to do. Do I need to call the police?
"I was tidying up my mess in the dining room because I'm making a chess set, and I was like 'Oh, that's a funny bit of clay'. That's a tooth! I don't know what type ... it looks like a molar."
She mentioned that she's currently in the process of getting her fireplace opened up due to some necessary chimney repairs, and she suspects the tooth might have originated from there.
Jordan shared that jackdaws frequently perch on her roof, so she can't confirm whether the tooth was always present in her house or if it was brought and dropped by one of these birds through her open chimney.
She further added: "It's got to have come from in there. The only thing I can think of is there are loads of jackdaws up top; maybe they've brought it and dropped it? But what if there's a person up there? What do I do? There can't be someone up there. It's too narrow. Isn't it?"
The post sparked mixed reactions among commenters. Some advised the woman to contact the police as a safety measure, while others suggested that teeth were occasionally used in ancient folklore as "protection against fairies," implying that someone who thought they were safeguarding their home could have left it.
What to do if you discover human remains in your home or gardenStumbling upon bones while or doing home renovations can be quite unnerving. Such occurrences are rare, leaving most people unsure about the next steps.
However, you should immediately alert the police, even if you're uncertain whether the remains are human.
In a 2012 interview with the , a crime scene manager advised: "It's very simple. You need to stop whatever you're doing and call the police. In the first instance we will liaise with the CID [Criminal Investigation Department], then we will go down to make an initial and brief assessment."
They also mentioned that homeowners can check out the remains "without being too intrusive", noting it's often wise to take a closer look as police are sometimes summoned for "mouldy sticks" and items that turn out not to be bones.
